LAST PARTY 7
26-29 XII 2003
Taklamakan, Opalenica, Polska
ATARI Copy Party
Invitation

Last update: 01 XII 2003

What every guest should to know...

This is already seventh edition of this meeting and (together with the Peoples' Summer on summer) already twelfth meeting in this city. Since the old QuaST Party died ;), meetings in Opalenica (Last Party in December and PS on summer) became the most important Atari meetings in Poland. The party is dedicated for all ATARI users: ST, STe, TT/Falcon and certainly XL/XE.

Well, but how much this costs?

We live in capitalistic country and nobody will give us the place for free. Therefore we pay 40 zł.

Obviously (because we it are not feminists) women always come in for free! So you can take your girl/wife with small cost.

When?

The meeting will take place in 26-29 days of December. This means: from 26th (Friday, Boxing day, from 15:00) to 29th (Monday, till afternoon/evening). Official opening will take place on Friday.

Just, but where do I have to go?

Opalenica lies 40 km on the west from Poznan (Posen) and has a very good railway connexions.

Big City! :)

Our party place is (as always) the Community Culture Home, called Taklamakan. How to get there from station? This is about 800 metres of walk. You should go along Dworcowa street. On it's end (where on thr left side is level crossing), then turn right into 5 - go Stycznia st. On the next crossing turn into Powstańca Kozaka st.; then after 100 metres turn right into Farna. Just you will see town hall. Turm right and soon left into Mickiewicza st. After you about 50 metress you will see long awaited Taklamakan. Hurray!

If you do think, that this too complicated, I have a good info. Probably always someone will wait for you on a station!

And what I am to expect in this Takla...?

  • It large hall, where it possible to put one's equipment (or to look at anothers'). This hall has a large scene for Atari Scene! ;-)
  • Separate hall for sleeping.
  • Pizzeria in the same building.
  • A kitchen.
  • A shower (great!).
  • And (the most important) many famous Atarians! And superb Atari equipment.

You should also expect competitions (music, graphic artist, intro and demo). Bring your own productions for competitions!

You should not expect comfortable beds so please take your sleeping-bag! You can also take your equipment (do not forget about monitor, cables and so further).

  • Additional memory using is not allowed (it has to run on 64 kilobytes).

  • Intro can use 128 KB of memory in PortB (+64 KB). It cannot however use separate access for CPU/Antic (as in 130 XE or Compy Shop expansions). That means, that CPU and Antic have to use ramdisc together (different explanation: access in style: Antic-XMS and CPU-main storage at one time - is prohibited). Therefore, the intro has to work with every type of memory upgrade.
  • Different kinds (not PortB) of the memory upgrades cannot be used during competition.

  • All disc calls can be only from device 'D:' (not 'D1:' !!!) - because demo has to run from subdirectory and / or harddisk.
  • The RAM under FPP area (New Devices) cannot be used during loading - because demo has to run from HDD.
  • Demo has also to start from medium-density disc drive.
  • Demo can use 320 KB of memory in PortB (+256 KB).
