 Soundcards for C64 fans
Hungarian HardSID company has an unusual offer for old compys' lovers: MIDI soundcard equipped with original Commodore 64 soundchips. It may seems a bit eccentric, but the cards sales so well, that the company begins sales in the USA (not - as it was so far - in the Europe only).
HardSID devices are not for the 'oldschool' computer sound fans only, but also for those creating electronic music. SID chips - that were Commodore equipment - (in two versions: MOS 6581 and later 8580), offered excellent, analog tones in much higher quality than this one emulated on the modern soundcards. This - archaic nowadays - computer was very popular among the musicians in the '80s, e.g. Polish band Kombi, that was using C64.
HardSID offers various versions of the card - also the one with no SID chip, one can acquire the chip from this old compy laying in the attic.
The most advanced version, in the Hungarian company offer is the card with both SID versions (6581 and 8580) for use in both Apple and PC computers. We have to pay from od 109 to 199 euro fro acces to this characteristic, legendary sound. Cards with no chip onboard are a bit less expensive.

Chyba nie mamy szczególnych powodów do zawi?ci, cieszcie si?, prosz? bardzo. Atarynka jako? si? broni, mimo ?e jest od Komody starsza o jakie? pi?? lat, czyli ca?? er?.

AFAIK this cards are in sale for really many years.
Hard are the people known for old Atari demos... Funny, they were using in the Atari demos C64 music conversions...

Przynajmniej nikt nie bedzie skupowal Atarynek do "pozyskania" ukladu POKEY. I cale szczescie :):) - hehe; sprzedarz karty niewatpliwie zmniejszy ilosc dzialajacych C64; w sumie szkoda mimo wszystko.
